This isn’t usually as important as the other factors, but it is something to consider if you’re waffling between two similar options. Many options come with cable management, places to set a keyboard, and other convenient functions. If you have multiple monitors or a gaming setup, you’ll need more room for all of your important devices. If you only have one monitor or laptop, obviously you won’t need as big of a setup. The size of the desk surface is going to be a crucial consideration. If you’re taller or shorter, you may need to consider an option that has a higher range, one way or the other. You’ll want to make sure the height range of the desk has comfortable options for both sitting and standing.
STANDING DESK CONVERTER MANUAL
Manual desks are less expensive, but you have to adjust the height yourself. Electric desks are typically more expensive, but it makes it much easier to switch the positions of the standing desk throughout the day. Here are a few factors to think about: Manual Versus Electricįirst, you’ll want to decide between a manual or an electric standing desk. When choosing your standing desk or standing desk converter, there are a few things you’ll want to keep in mind to get the best one for your needs. We’ve put together the best standing desks out there right now to make your office job more enjoyable. With a good standing desk or standing desk converter, it’s easy to switch comfortably to sitting and standing positions, keeping your body comfortable and giving you more energy overall. Standing all day isn’t feasible either, as you’re likely to get tired before the day ends. It can cause a myriad of health issues down the line. Sitting all day, almost every day, is pretty bad for your health. MultiTable is definitely the clear winner.Working in an office or working from home is about as safe as a job can get, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t take a toll on your body.
Finally, I am 6'7", and this unit at its tallest is a perfect fit. Fourth, the Varidesk has more cutout area, meaning that the MultiTable has more real estate for monitors, laptops, paperwork, etc. The MultiTable raises and lowers straight up and down so stays more stable. Third, the Varidesk moves forward when it raises, so the unit becomes top heavy, particularly with the overhang of the base. Second, the base of the Varidesk is deeper, and hangs over the desks in our cubes, while the MultiTable fits perfectly. The MultiTable on the other hand was easy for all to raise/lower. Several of the shorter/average height women in the office had a lot of problems raising the Varidesk, and some could not lower it. First, the Varidesk lifts with spring action, which is much harder to raise and lower than the MultiTable pneumatic assist. Not only is the Varidesk $100 more, it is not nearly as nice as the MultiTable, for several reasons. Notably, today an office mate received his Varidesk of the same size. In side-by-side comparison with Varidesk, the Multitable is the clear winner! Just finished the first week with this, and I love it. This desk makes standing up so easy, and I can quickly raise it, keep working and stand for even longer periods. Getting up to take a break helps sometimes, but isn't always the best answer for days when there is much work to be done.
My doctor actually recommended that I purchase this because I have lower back pain and sitting for too long aggravates it. I'm very happy with my purchase and am enjoying the benefits of being able to sit or stand as needed while working. I use this with a large laptop and computer monitor sitting on top and still have plenty of space in front to put a notebook should I like to take notes while working. Another great thing about this is that the handle is easy to reach and doesn't pinch at times. It easily adjusts to many heights, though. Furthermore, it goes up quite high which I like because I am on the taller side for most females (5'10"). I also love that the keyboard tray is large (and detachable). I love it! I compared this desk to other adjustable table top standing desks and chose this one because it was wider and easier to lift than most.
The best one I have found at this competitive price.
